Slaget om Khartoum
Overview
I 1883 sender den engelske premierminister William Gladstone, general Charles 'Chinese' Gordon i spidsen for sin hær til byen Khartoum i Sudan. Her trues tusinder af civile af den muslimske Mahdi og hans tusinder af hellige krigere. Det lykkes indledningsvis Gordon at vinde Mahdiens respekt, men det lykkes ham ikke at forhindre, at Mahdiens hær lægger sig i en jernring omkring byen. Hele magtbalancen i området står nu på spil, og Gordon står over for sit livs vigtigste udfordringer: Slaget om Khartoum kan begynde.
