Overzicht
1927. Vanwege de dreiging van de Jodenvervolging besluit een Russische familie hun dochter naar Engeland te sturen. Na aankomst krijgt ze een nieuwe identiteit en wordt ze opgenomen door een pleeggezin. 10 Jaar later besluit Suzie om Engeland te verruilen voor Parijs en daar een nieuw leven te beginnen. Via haar werk bij een prestigeus opera gezelschap komt ze in contact met de mooie paardenhandelaar Cesar. Wanneer de nazi's op het punt staan om Frankrijk binnen te vallen wordt Suzie geconfronteerd met haar verleden.
