Overzicht
The Kumars at No. 42 is een komische talkshowserie gepresenteerd door de dertigjarige Sanjeev Kumar, die altijd verschijnt vergezeld van zijn ouders Madhuri en Ashwin en zijn grootmoeder Sushila (genaamd ummi). Het gaat over een fictief gezin van Indiase afkomst, woonachtig in Wembley, Londen. De ouders van Sanjeev steunen zijn droom om televisiepresentator te worden en hebben hiervoor een studio in hun achtertuin gebouwd. Gasten op zijn shows worden betaald in chutney. De humor maakt gebruik van Sanjeevs sociale onbekwaamheid, Ashwins obsessie met financiële thema's en zijn neiging om langdradige verhalen te vertellen zonder een specifiek onderwerp.
